Hey fun girl- where you at?!?!

Dear Brooke,
Remember that feeling when you're 18? Your life is before you & you're ready to conquer the World?! No fear, no hesitation. Jumping in with both feet was literally what you did. There were moments of poor decisions & moments of true idiocy- but there were also moments of bliss & complete,100%, uninterrupted, uncompromised enjoyment. Remember that? How you didn't look at the mountain and name the 300 possible ways to die but you looked at it and didn't even think before your feet left the ground to climb it? Remember never asking how or why- but asking when can I try that?!?! Zip lining through the forest without freaking bc a branch scraped you & now you're convinced you've got a flesh eating bacteria? Or scuba diving off the coast of Maui and actually enjoying it when you swam along side a huge turtle? And trying to do tricks on a black diamond run in Colorado without envisioning crashing your skull or ending up in a full body cast. And what about that time you went snorkeling in the Bahamas and had the time of your life?...those were things that you didn't give a second thought. Someone mentioned something fun, something you may only experience once in a lifetime & you jumped at it! What has happened to you?!?! Now instead of giving your children those triumphant, explorative moments, you're protecting them, covering them with cortisone cream & band aids, keeping them inside so they don't get bitten by the one mosquito you saw, wincing when they want to try a new food because what if they're allergic?! And forget carnival rides or touching their turtle for too long without washing theirs hands. And you do it to yourself too! No new adventures unless they have a 0.2% or lower risk level. Seriously. Get a grip! Try something new, try something you're scared of, try something adventurous- get out and LIVE! You go girl! You got this! Life is what you make it, and you only live once- so make it a good one! Live for God, live for love, live for adventure, live for THIS very moment. Give more hugs, say 'I Love You' more often, jump off the ledge, throw a dart at the map & travel to where it lands. Give fear the ole heave-ho, because fear is suffocating! It wears you down, it makes you boring- & I'm pretty certain it causes grey hairs & wrinkles (I mean why else would you have those?!) quit being a big ole scaredy cat! Give up the fight for control & give into the wind- let it carry you to far off places & enjoy the beauty of things unseen.
Signed,
That fun girl you used to know
